  1. Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE).
  2. A minimum grade of C (plain) in each of the following subjects: English/ Kiswahili, Mathematics A/B, any GROUP II or any GROUP III and, a GROUP II or a GROUP III or any GROUP IV or any GROUP V.
  3. Candidates who are admitted under government sponsorship will have their admission cut-off points fixed by The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) for each admission year.

Or

At least a two-year Diploma in hospitality, tourism or related areas, with a credit from a recognized institution. In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of C- (minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)

Or

Any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution accredited by the Ministry of Education, the Commission of University Education and recognized by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority.

Other Admission Requirements

  • Under the credit transfer system, admission will be given to a candidate student registered in a similar or related program from a university which is accredited by a relevant body. Admission will be subject to regulations on credit transfer for a particular program.

Requirements
K.C.S.E minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) with a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in Chemistry/Physical Sciences and English/Kiswahili and C (plain) in Mathematics/ Physics and Biology/Biological Sciences.

Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition and Food Sciences from K.N.E.C or its equivalent.

  • BSc. Animal Health & Production

A candidate wishing to be admitted to the Department of Animal Sciences in the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences (SAFs) of MUST for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Production must meet the minimum entry requirements of the University, the school regulations and departmental requirements for the program. The minimum entry requirements set by MUST will be guided by the requirements given by the regulator, Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB), and the Commission for University Education for admission of candidates to pursue a Bachelor of Science in animal health disciplines. A candidate wishing to be admitted to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Production at MUST shall have the following mandatory qualifications;

  • K.C.S.E minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) with a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in each of the following subjects; Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry/ Physical Sciences and Mathematics/Physical Sciences. Two principals and one subsidiary Pass at KACE level or equivalent, one of which must be in Biology and in any other Science Subject
  • OR; A minimum of C (plain) in K.C.S.E. and at least a Credit Pass in Diploma in Animal Health/Agriculture/Medical Laboratory Technology/ Animal Science/Animal Production/Dairy Science/Biology from an institution approved by MUST Senate

Regulations on Credit Transfers

  1. Only a grade A in the transferable unit(s) (as prescribed by the departmental academic board) taken during the diploma program from MUST or recognized institution by the MUST senate shall be transferable.
  2. Only 3 units per semester shall be transferable.
  3. Levels of courses eligible are the transferable units offered in the first year of study.
  4. A student registered in a similar or related program that is accredited by a relevant body shall be granted credit transfer in courses covering similar course content as those offered in this program except as provided below. To be eligible for credit transfer the student must have attained a minimum grade B in the course in consideration
