- A holder of a Bachelor’s of Science of an Engineering degree, with at least second class honours, upper division, from DeKUT or from any other institution which is recognized by the university senate as being of equivalent academic status or
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science of an Engineering degree, with Second Class honours- Lower division in the Engineering disciplines outlined above and with at least 2 years work experience.
Master of Science in Geospatial Information Systems & Remote Sensing
Course Requirements
The following are eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Geospatial Information Systems and Remote Sensing:
Either;
- A holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor of Science degree from DeKUT in a spatial information based or related specialization, or from any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status, OR
- A holder of a Second Class Honours (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science degree from DeKUT in a spatial information based or related specialization, or from any other institution which is recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition has had either two years relevant experience and professional development or academic advancement through research and publication since graduation with the Bachelor’s degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.
Master of Science in Forensics & Security Management
Master of Science in Food Science Technology
Course Requirements
The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Food Science Technology:
Either;
- A holder of at least a Second Class Honors (Upper Division) Bachelors of Science degree in Food Science and Technology of DeKUT or any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status, OR
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree of at least Second Class Honors (Upper Division), in a related field, which is recognized by the University Senate as an adequate pre-requisite for M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology OR
- A holder of a Second Class Honors (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science degree from DeKUT or any other institution which isrecognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition must show proof of at least two years relevant experience.
Master of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Course Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication & Information Engineering or other equivalent qualifications from DeKUT or any other accredited institution, AND Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 OR
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication & Information Engineering or other equivalent qualifications from DeKUT or any other accredited institution OR any other related engineering qualification deemed as being an adequate prerequisite for the Masters of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Degree WITH Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00. In addition, applicants must show proof of either two years of relevant work experience and professional development or academic advancement through research and publications since graduation with the Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.

Successful candidates will be sponsored to carry out their work in state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities in DeKUT and in highly specialized chip design labs of partner Universities in France.
Master of Science in Economics
Course Requirements
A candidate must satisfy one of the following admission requirements.
- Be holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Economic Finance or Economics Statistics; with at least Upper Second class honor from any university recognized by DeKUT academic Board and approved by the senate.
- Be holder of Bachelor Degree with lower second class honor in any of the areas (as in part a above); from DeKUT or any other university recognized by the academic Board and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant research or relevant work experience of more than two(2) years.
- Be a holder of an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by the Academic Board as compared academic qualifications from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and approved by Senate.
Master of Science in Computer Science
Course Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, including Information Technology, Electronic Engineering and Information Systems from DeKUT, or from any other institution recognized by the University Senate, with at least Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 OR,
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines,including Information Technology, Electronic Engineering and Information Systems, from DeKUT, or any other institution recognized by the University Senate, with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 on a scale of 4.00, and in addition, have relevant industry experience of at least two (2) years. The applicant should show evidence of research capability either through paper presentations or peer reviewed publications.
Master of Science in Civil Engineering
Course Requirements
The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Civil Engineering:
Either;
- At least a relevant upper second class honor in Civil Engineering or other equivalent or related qualifications from DeKUT or any other University recognized by Senate as being of equivalent academic status , OR;
- A relevant Lower second class honors in Civil Engineering or other equivalent or related qualifications with additional relevant training,evidence of research capability either through research, paper presentations or peer reviewed publications and relevant working experienceof at least 2 years or a relevant.
Master of Science in Chemistry
Course Requirements
The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Chemistry:
Either;
- A holder of at least an Upper Second Class Honors bachelors degree of DeKUT in BSc. Industrial Chemistry OR
- A holder of at least a second class honors upper division Bachelors of Science degree in relevant field from DeKUT or any other institutionrecognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status to (1) OR
- A holder of a Bachelor’s Degree, Second Class (Lower Division), in Industrial Chemistry or Bachelors of Science Degree in relevant fieldfrom DeKUT or any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition mustshow proof of two years of relevant experience and professional development and academic advancement through research and publicationsince graduation with the bachelor’s degree or postgraduate diploma in the relevant field.
Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering
Admission Requirements
The following shall be eligible into admission for the degree of Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering:
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from DeKUT AND an upper second class honors or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 OR
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from another institution recognized by the DeKUT senate AND an upper second class honors or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 OR
- Any other related engineering qualification deemed as being an adequate prerequisite for the Masters of Science in Biomedical Degree approved by DeKUT Senate AND an upper second class honors or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.
The following shall be the alternative entry admission requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering:
A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from DeKUT, a holder of a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from another institution recognized by the DeKUT Senate OR any other related engineering qualification deemed as being an adequate prerequisite for the Masters of Science in Mechanical Degree approved by DeKUT Senate WITH a lower second-class honors or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00 with additional relevant training, evidence of research capability either through research, paper presentations or peer reviewed publications and relevant working experience.
Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Engineering
Course Requirements
The following shall be eligible into admission for the degree of Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Engineering:
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with at least Second Class Honours, Upper Division, of DeKUT or
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with at least Second Class Honours, Lower Division, of DeKUT with not less than two (2) years relevant work experience or
- A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, with Second Class Honours-Upper Division or Second Class Honours-Lower Division but with two (2) years professional work experience in area relevant to the programme, from another institution recognized by the DeKUT Senate as being of satisfactory academic status.
Master of Business Administration
Course Requirements
A candidate must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:
- Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class honours (GPA of 3.0) from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology or any other University recognized by DeKUT School Board and approved by the Senate.
- Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with Lower Second Class honours (GPA of 2.60) from DeKUT or any other University recognized by the DeKUT School Board and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant Postgraduate qualifications or relevant work experience of at least two (2) years.
- Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with a PASS (GPA of 2.0) from DeKUT or any other University recognized by the University School Board and approved by the Senate provided such a candidate has relevant full professional qualifications or relevant work experience of at least three (3) years.
- Be a holder of an equivalent qualifications from other institutions recognized by the School Board as comparable academic qualification of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and approved by Senate.
