Admission requirements for the MD program (AY 2024 – 2025)

  1. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 years of school education.
  2. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as follows:
    • 1400 in Emirates Standardized Language Test (EmSAT) (only for UAE resident applicants)

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants shall meet all admission criteria for entry into the higher education programs offered by the University, as laid down in the Standards (2019) published by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, UAE.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from GMU.
  • Distinct undergraduate performance of minimum cumulative grade point average(CGPA) of 3.0  on a 4-point scale
  • The Applicant must have proficiency in spoken and written English. The applicant can fulfil the English proficiency requirement via the TOEFL, IELTS, or UA CESL Endorsement Exam, minimum requirements are listed below. TOEFL and IELTS test scores must be dated within two years of the year of enrolment.

  • The applicant must possess Registered Nurse (RN) license from the country of origin, an active Nursing Practice License from MOH/DHA/HAAD and a valid BLS
  • The applicant must have proficiency in spoken and written English. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as applicable Emirates Standardized Language Test (EmSAT) 1100, TOEFL 500, (173 CBT, 61 iBT), IELTS Academic 5.0 as approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, UAE. English proficiency minimum requirement is mandatory before admission.
  • The applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • The applicant shall submit a copy of passport, Emirates ID, all academic documents and official transcripts/credits/grades/ marks duly attested by the Ministry of Education, UAE and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE or UAE Embassy in their country on admission into the program.
  • The applicant shall submit a NOC from the working institution if employed.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN)

  • The applicant must have successfully completed high school (Grade 12) and 3 or 31/2 years program of Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • The applicant must submit an Equivalency Certificate of their Diploma in Nursing from Ministry of Education, UAE.
  • The applicant must possess Registered Nurse (RN) license from the country of origin, an active Nursing Practice License from MOH/DHA/HAAD and a valid BLS
  • The applicant must have proficiency in spoken and written English. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as applicable Emirates Standardized Language Test (EmSAT) 1100, TOEFL ITP 500, (173 CBT, 61 iBT), IELTS Academic 5.0 as approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, UAE. English proficiency minimum requirement is mandatory before admission.
  • The applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • The applicant shall submit a copy of passport, Emirates ID, all academic documents and official transcripts/credits/grades/ marks duly attested by the Ministry of Education, UAE and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE or UAE Embassy in their country on admission into the program.
  • The UAE Nationals shall submit a copy of UAE nationality ID (Khulasat Al-Kayd) and a family card with an identification number.
  • The applicant shall submit a NOC from the working institution if employed.

Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics (BSc.HME)

Admission requirements for Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management & Economics (AY2023-24)

  1. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 years of school education.
  2. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as follows:
    • 1100 in Emirates Standardized Language Test (EmSAT) (only for UAE resident applicants)
    • 500 in TOEFL (CBT 173 – iBT 61)
    • 5.0 in IELTS for Academic
      Valid English Proficiency Score is mandatory before admission.
  1. Applicants from any other non-UAE educational systems must submit an Equivalency Certificate of their High School certificate from Ministry of Education, UAE.
  2. Applicants from various educational systems must comply with the rules listed below:

  1. Applicants from any other non-UAE educational systems not listed above must have secured a minimum aggregate score equivalent to UAE 65% as per International Grade Conversion Table published by World Education Services (WES).
  2. The applicant must have passed any one of the following tests and have subject Proficiency with a minimum score as stipulated for selection:
    • Proficiency in any two of the subjects (Biology, Mathematics, Business studies, Economics, computer science) in EmSAT exams with minimum score of 700 for each subject.

OR

    • Proficiency tests approved by Ministry in relevant school subject approved by ministry (AP Biology and AP Calculus and above or SAT Biology and SAT Math)

OR

    • Scores in relevant school subjects studied in a school system with centralized examination.
      • UAE , and American system – 60% each in two science subjects
      • Indian, Pakistan Bangladesh, African – 50% each in two science subjects
      • British system : ‘D’ grade and above in two science subjects in AS level
      • IB diploma: with a score of 4 and above for two science subjects
      • All other international educational system achieving 65% in two science subjects.

OR

    • Pass scores in admission tests for two science subjects and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) offered by the Institution which is approved by the ministry.
  1. On successful completion of the above, the applicant and parent meet the admissions committee. Admission is finalized on a competitive basis.
  2. All applicants shall be evaluated for cognitive and non-cognitive traits demonstrating their aptitude for the chosen area of study by the Admissions committee of the College.
  3. Applicants who lack sufficient background in, Mathematics subject may register for the non-credit remedial course offered by the University.
  4. The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final and binding.
