Colleges offering p1 course for teachers in Kenya

There are many colleges offering P1 course for teachers in Kenya. Most of those with P1 training end up teaching in primary schools. The minimum qualification required is usually a D plain, but most colleges require a D+ to C plain. To complete the entire course you require fee of Ksh100,000 to Ksh150,000.

This is a two year program, which at the end of the course students should achieve the following objectives:

• To develop the basic theoretical and practical knowledge about the teaching profession so that teachers attitude and abilities be turned towards professional commitment and competence

• To develop teachers ability to communicate effectively
• To create national consciousness in every teacher
• To promote awareness and appreciation of the role of technology In national development

QUALIFICATIONS

• Mean grade C plain
• C plain in mathematics, English, Kiswahili, C plain in one humanities, C plain in one sciences
• Upgrade in ECDE (FROM ECDE  to DECTE) – 4 terms-course
