Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has been arrested two days after his fellow blogger Robert Alai was released on a Ksh 50,000 cash bail.
The blogger had posted a series of articles on his cnyakundi.com blog where he alleged that KRA Commissioner General Mburu had jetted into the country from Dubai without self-quarantine. After few hours,he received WhatsApp message from DCI officer to report at a nearest police station.
Nyakundi appeared at the DCI headquarters yesterday around 5 pm, since then he has been silent. We are yet to receive information about DCI’s next move.
Cyprian is not alone, even blogger Abraham Mutai was warned against posting unverified news about Coronavirus. Robert Alai was also told not to post anything on his page bout the virus.
From the three cases, it seems the government is on a mission to silence bloggers.
