KASNEB is a proficient examinational body with the authority to offer professional, diploma and technician qualifications in accountancy, finance, credit, governance and management, information technology and associated disciplines.
Presently, KASNEB administers 5 professional examinations, 3 diploma examinations and one certificate examination that lead to the following:
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
They are skilled and proficient professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax consultants and practitioners in both public and private sectors.
Certified Secretaries (CS)
These are specialists and experts in governance audits and compliance, corporate secretarial practice, corporate law, consultancy and business management and administration.
Certified Information Communication Technologists (CICT)
They are skilled and competent system developers and programmers, network administrators, system engineers, ICT consultants and practitioners.
Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA)
These people are professionals in financial analysis, investments and securities, portfolio management, pension management, investment banking and other related areas.
Certified Credit Professionals
Certified Credit Professionals are experts and top level managers, practitioners and consultants in the rapidly developing field of credit management.
DIPLOMA QUALIFICATIONS
Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD)
This course equips scholars with skills and knowledge to work in middle level accountants providing technical support in accounting auditing and taxation.
Diploma in Information Communication Technology (DICT)
This qualification prepares and equips candidates to work in the vibrant ICT industry as technicians in systems development, systems programming, administration and maintenance.
Diploma in Credit Management (DCM)
A Diploma in Credit Management equips candidates with skills and competencies to work in credit management and credit control in both financial and non-financial enterprises.
Certificate Courses
Certificate in Accountancy and management Skills (CAMS)
After undergoing this course, the scholar is equipped with skills and knowledge to provide basic accounting and management services to NGO’s and public sector entities.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Both recent high school graduates and seasoned professionals seeking to broaden their knowledge and skill sets can enrol in these courses. A KCSE certificate is the minimal admission requirement for the vocational certificates. There are two levels to the classes, and each level lasts three months. Students with high school diplomas begin at level one, which consists primarily of fundamental skills.
Students who want to work as entry-level accounting and management staff who can apply fundamental accounts and financial statements for small businesses should take this course. The course has two levels, each of which takes an average of six months to complete, for a total of one year. The minimum entry criteria for this subject are a vocational certificate or a mean grade of D plain in the KCSE.
Two levels make up the administration of the Diploma courses, with each level each of the two levels of the diploma programs takes, on average, one year to complete. The IGCSE examination grade D, the KCSE mean grade C- or equivalent, the CAMS, or any other KASNEB technician or diploma examination certificate are the entry requirements for diploma programmes.
There are three levels of KASNEB professional courses: foundation, intermediate, and advanced. Although candidates are recommended to budget an additional year for an internship or practical experience, each level takes on average one year to complete. The minimal requirements for admission to the professional program are a KCSE mean grade of C+, a KACE with at least TWO principal passes, and credits in English and Mathematics at the Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) level, as well as a KASNEB diploma or professional examination certificate. Another requirement is a degree from an accredited university. IGCSE exam grade C in all six examinations with a C in both English and mathematics, or other certificates or degrees that KASNEB has validated.
