A Kenyan who got 3 million views from YouTube has revealed the amount of money he earned. According to Giddy Akali, he earned Ksh 300,000 by getting 2,800,000 views. He had 98% of views from Kenya and his CPM was low. Giddy reveals that he earned Ksh 40 per 1000 views.
The content creator has 30,000 subscribers on YouTube with over 300 videos. He posts at least 2 videos weekly.
Giddy complains that Kenyan content creators earn lower amount of money compared to their counterparts in USA. He reveals that those in USA earn Ksh 3 million for 3 million views when Kenyan content creators make Ksh 300,000 from the same number of visitors.
Later, he advised that for content creators in Kenya to increase their revenue, they have to target USA audience. His mistake was to create content that target Kenyan audience.
He also advised YouTubers to target high paying niches like loans, real estate and technology.
