Many people often think that when you score A ,you are automatically successful. However, you don’t have to score A to become successful.
We are in an era where you skills and competence matter. We normally celebrate As only and disregard people who score D or E. Eventually, majority of those scoring D and below end up starting businesses which become successful. When the A materials finish college, they end up being employed by the D materials.
In this modern world, you need to know people, network and at least understand things that are most needed in the society. There are rare skills that don’t require a degree course.
The problem with A students is that when they finish college, they go straight to major towns to look for employment. Most jobs pay peanuts. You will find a graduate earning a salary of Ksh25,000 in Industrial area. The money is taxed. While someone who scored D plain enrolled for diploma in Plumbing and he is making Ksh50,000 per month without paying tax.
Sometimes success is based on luck and your positioning in the society, not what you scored in school. Of course, it’s good to work hard in school but don’t rely on the paper to shape your future.
