Entry Requirements

To join KMTC to pursue a Certificate course, you must have a minimum of C- with specific qualifications in cluster subjects in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE). For Diploma programmes, you must have attained a minimum of C with specific qualifications in cluster subjects. Upgrading courses require that a candidate has a certificate in a respective field while for Higher Diploma programmes, candidates must have attained a Diploma course as per the following guidelines.

University of Nairobi Diploma in Nursing Admission requirements

Course Entry/Admission Requirements for Diploma in Renal Nursing at The University of Nairobi

To be qualified for admission, the prospective candidate must have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Diploma in Nursing (KRN/M – Kenya Registered Nurse/MidWifery, KRCHN – Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse). The candidate must be registrable by a professional body of Nursing.
    or
  2. Holders of Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Nairobi or an equivalent qualification approved by Senate. The applicants should be registrable by a professional body of Nursing and
  3. Must have a minimum of Two years of Nursing practice experience
    and
  4. At least C plain at KCSE or equivalent
  5. Equivalent qualifications from the four East Africa Community Countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda shall be considered

Aga Khan University Diploma in nursing Admission requirements

KCSE mean grade of C (or equivalent) with relevant combination of other subjects such as English, Kiswahili, Biology, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Sciences.

The Nairobi Hospital Diploma in Nursing Admission requirements

Mode and duration of study: Full-time; 3 years;

Minimum Entry requirements: KCSE or equivalent
