KRA Graduate Trainee Requirements and Salaries

KRA is one of the highest paying government institutions in Kenya. It’s also a secure place to be employed. Most people who work at KRA were employed through the yearly graduate trainee recruitment exercise. Graduate trainee earn Ksh 40,000 to Ksh 80,000. The money is taxable.

After training, their salary is increased to Ksh 100,000 to Ksh 120,000.

Graduate trainee program lasts for 1 year. All those recruited are absorbed after the program.

To be employed, you have to meet the following requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration and/or support of relevant Tax and Customs Laws
  • Enforcing compliance in tax with relevant Laws.

Requirements for engagement as a Graduate Trainee

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 28 years and below
  • Must have a Mean Grade of at least C+ in KCSE or its equivalent with a minimum of C+ in both English and Mathematics
  • Must possess an undergraduate Degree from a recognized University. Holders of the following degree courses are also encouraged to apply: Petroleum/Chemical/Marine engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cyber security, Geospatial, Medicine, Radiography, Pharmacy, Animal health, Veterinary medicine and Food technology.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
