A total of 98353 domains are registered in Kenya by 24/20/2020.The number is expected to rise to 12,000 by the end of 2020. The statistics were obtained from Kenic,a body that is mandated with registering domains in Kenya and licensing of website hosting companies.
Most of the registrations happened over a period of 3 years, from 2017 to 2020.This is the period when most graduates opted to become bloggers and companies launched new websites. Initially, most companies did not own websites, they were operating from physical offices.
For those who want to register new domain names with .co.ke extension, you can do so at Kenic but if you need a .com domain, register with Bluehost. Here is the link to Bluehost
Note that you can’t own a website without first registering a domain name.
