Leaked information shows that DP Ruto pays his bloggers up to Ksh 600,000 per month. The lead blogger in DP Ruto’s camp is Dennis Itumbi who earns a cumulative amount of Ksh600,000 per month.
In 2017 Ruto started assembling his team and one of the key areas he strengthened is social media. He went for a team that was instrumental in President Uhuru’s win. It’s after his (Ruto)interaction with Dennis Itumbi that President Uhuru’s handlers kicked out bloggers allied to Ruto.Dennis Itumbi was hired by Ruto to counter Raila and Uhuru bloggers. His monthly salary by the time he was leaving State House was Ksh 500,000. Ruto added him Ksh100,000 more, he now earns a cool Ksh 600,000.
Ruto has a total of 144 bloggers who are on payroll. Some of the people he hired include Esther Okenyuri and Anthony Kibagendi who earn Ksh 120,000 and Ksh 180,000 per month respectively.
Ruto’s bloggers are classified into three categories, there are those who were poached from Uhuru’s office, those who are Ruto’s confidant and those who are popular on Facebook. Facebook bloggers are the majority but the lowest paid.Ruto pays Facebook bloggers Ksh10,000 to Ksh50,000 per month ,he pays those poached from President Kenyatta’s team Ksh 200,000 to Ksh600,000 per month. His confidants take home average of Ksh300,000 per month.
As we approach 2022, Ruto is expected to hire more bloggers to counter fake news, scandals and popularize his candidature. Soon he is expected to recruit over 200 more bloggers.
If you own a website or a popular Facebook page, the DP will recruit you.
